Our History

Without boring you with the finer details, Shane Charles and Colin Desbrow have been long time mates and had always discussed how fun it would be to one day participate in a car rally.

In 2004 Shane became a director of the Endeavour Foundation. One of thecore fundraising activities of the Foundation was the Great Endeavour Car Rally. At one board meeting, it was decided that a director should participate in the rally and Shane put his hand up. The first person he called was Colin and they have been a formidable team ever since.

Being a solicitor and jeweller, Shane and Col knew a heap about cars (well not really). . . they proceeded to find a Ford Fairlane advertised outside Beaudesert for the princely sum of $2,300. Little did they know that this was just the start! Quite a few tens of thousands dollars later, Shane and Col have one of the more robust, noticeable and impressive cars in the rally. When setting out to set up the car, the boys were adamant that the car had to look appealing to as to give maximum benefit for sponsors.

This year for the first time the Red Bull Racing Team will consist of 2 vehicles and back up cars. Whilst this will reduce our chances of taking out the Highest Fundraiser title, we are aiming for our team to be the highest fundraisers.

Whilst winning the rally would be nice, quite rightly the organisers of the event place greater emphasis on fundraising.
