Well thanks to all who participated in the inaugural event, the Great Endeavour continued and has been a wonderful opportunity for the 6000 people who have travelled on it since 1988. Not to mention the sensational fundraising and awareness benefits for the Endeavour Foundation.
We sincerely thank you for taking part in this special anniversary event and certainly hope that it not only meets, but exceeds all your expectations.
As you can see from the distance to travel, its a reasonably long day. Please take the time to read the safe driving tips and tricks in the front of the book and make sure you get you, your car and your crew back to Kooralbyn in one piece.
Todays course will be a variety of good, bad and ugly roads and tracks and should have a bit of everything thrown in. Sand, mud, dust, gates and smooth sailing on the bitumen.
It is better explained in the route instruction, however we will be stopping the entire rally & cruise today at the site of the accident that claimed the lives of Greg Jabbs and Willie Morton on the first day of the first Great Endeavour. In a meaningful, but brief ceremony we will pay tribute and our respects to these two men and their families. The first cars are due there at 10.30am. The ceremony will take place at 1.00pm. Lunch is also at this site.
Please make sure you only camp at the locations set out in the route instructions.
Have a great day, take it easy as there is still 4440km and 9 harsh days to go.
