After a nights camp at Lark Quarry, its off to the big smoke of Stonehenge. Although the distance is short, todays course should not be underestimated. If you are starting to have car trouble, it would be best to skip it and follow the cruise course or maybe even look at heading up to Winton and or Longreach to get it repaired properly. Should you do this, please make sure you let an official know of your movements.
Some of the tracks today go down through a property called Maynside. A lot of this area is busy with opal mines, so trucks, machinery and people can pop up out of nowhere. Keep a keen eye out, as it will be quite dusty too. Although the UHF is handy to find out if there is oncoming traffic, never rely on it.
The cruise course will have amore leisurely day heading down through to Jundah for lunch then onto Stonehenge. The road south of Lark Quarry can get quite chopped up from trucks with deep and heavy bulldust holes. Take it easy and be careful.
At the time of writing we are unsure if the annual Stonehenge gift will be run tonight or tomorrow night. We will advise on the day, or on the night, or the next morning, or that afternoon and maybe when the sun goes down. If all else fails, keep an eye out for a bunch a people running flat round the corner with no gear on.
Once again we will be auctioning off each runner with all precedes going to Endeavour. Each runner will be auctioned off and the prize pool will be divided up: 25% runner, 25% owner, 50% Endeavour.
