Rally Update from the "RED BULL"

Today was a long.. long... long... day and we are both buggered, just got into Mitchell, the car is still going ok, little bit of a fuel issue but nothing that we can't overcome, still going all right points wise, we are in the top 10, last we heard we were coming 6th, all good today.. no dramas but a long boring day, had lunch on the lawns of Budgerygar station very pleasant, the locals really put the tucker on for us, off to Leyburn tomorrow, another cool night.

DAY 8: STONEHENGE TO MITCHELL

Back in the saddle for a long day across to Mitchell.

The man rally track is mostly good shire roads with the exception of a lot of rough bush tracks in between.

First up it’s back to Swanvale just to make sure you’ve had enough. After we het out the back door of Swanvale, we travel across to Yaraka. After a quick visit and refuel at Yaraka, we head down to Budgerygar station to have lunch on the lawns, just as they did 20 years ago.

After lunch we use the old road to Adavale. Little remains of this track and it could get a bit hard to see in places. Just head east!

The cruise course will head back down through Jundah and onto Quilpie for lunch. After that, it’s a smooth run all the way through to Mitchell via Charleville.

Most nights on the Great Endeavour are pretty free and easy, however tonight is the exception. We ask that everyone makes an effort to get into town, set up camp and make your way to the hall in time for the big birthday bash.

Tonight we are celebrating the 20th Birthday for the Great Endeavour rally. We have gone to great lengths and expense to put on an extra special function tonight and we want you to lap it up. Schedule:

6.30pm - Pre dinner drinks (Champaign) & nibbles by the spa. 7.00pm – Door open to hall & sit down for dinner.
